Yesterday I upgraded to dos 3.3 so naturally I was backing up my
hardisk before reformatting. I started using fastback which
failed, LOCKED up my system. Having lost data in the past I
decided not to use fastback and used pkarc to backup selective
directories to floppies; pkarc also hung up my system. I noticed
that BOTH fastback and pkarc BOMBED on the same file KEYSWAP.SYS.
I tried to copy the file with MKS cp(1) and dos COPY, both also
bombed, hung up my system too. I booted with a floppy,
keyswap.sys not installed and was able to copy the thing with no
problem.

Is KEYSWAP.SYS an information age equivalent to star treks' M5
computer; The one that wouldn't let anyone turn it off? Or was
this just one of those bizzare unexplanable things. I was busy
backing up and installing a new drive so I didn't really have
time to play with it and verify the pattern.
