Hi -
	I am sorry there isnt any more appropriate news group to post this...

	Anyways, a friend of mine has a DataGeneral T2 (portable) in Europe,
and we'd like to hook a modem to that machine...

	I asked Data General people to find out how much it would cost to get 
an internal modem - and they tell me it's $450.00 for 1200/300 and $500 for
2400/1200/300... their modem vendor is Microcomm and that's all they can tell
me as they say they dont know anything about other vendor's modems that will
work with the Data General portable PC's bus.

	My question is: Since I think it is outrageous to have to pay that much
for a stupid modem, I would like to know if the standard internal modems we
see on the market that support CCITT will work with that Data General machine
in Europe (france)... what are the brands and who are the vendors...  Also,
does the Data General's portable have a serial port as a standard feature?
If it does, what serial connector does it have? DB9 or DB25? Is it
male connector or female connector?  If it does have a serial port, then
I htink the best and most economical way to install a modem is to get a 
Migent pocket modem...  However, I dont know if Procomm will work with the
Data General portable or not...

Does anybody have any experience with teh DG T2 model? According to the
guy I talked to at DG, the T2 is the same T2 they are selling in America
except for the power supply.
