we run 0660 here.

the trouble with sendmail is ... hey, books could be written about
that.  certainly one problem with sendmail is that it is the smtp
speaker and listener.  around these parts, smtp mail is handled by
/usr/lib/mail/smtp and /usr/lib/mail/in.smtpd.
