The file itself shows up on an ls-l as length 885036. However, when I did a "compress -d D1.2-1.3.tar.Z" on it, it never finished. I finally stopped it, and a D1.2-1.3.tar file of about length 90000+ had been generated. I did the same thing, with the same results. Also tried it on a Vax and a Sun. Finally, downloaded another compress program (from bugs.nosc.mil). When I tried it on D1.2-1.3.tar.Z, it quit with a message saying "corrupt input". QUERY: Most likely I brought some garbage down, but before I try it again -- since it is a very long file -- has anyone else brought that file down and uncompressed (and untarred) it??? If I don't get any response within a few days, I'll just try again, I guess. John Nall (jnall@fsu) Computer Science Dept Florida State University
