In the latter case, you may be able to use TOPS newly announced support for the Etherlink MC card in PS/2s. A PS/2 on ethernet can now share files with Macs and PCs on AppleTalk bridged to the ethernet via Kinetics (or at least that is what the literature implies; I haven't actually tested the product).
