Because of this, any program that just sits on top of the Int 5C and tests things is incomplete. It may do a good job of determining just how well the Int 5C calls correspond to one of the competing standards for "NetBIOS", but it won't test the TCP/IP layer conformance. Given that all current implementations of RFC1001/1002 are subsets (no p- or m-nodes, as far as I know, and not many people tried to do "retarget"), what would probably be most useful is to collect all of the extant implementations and set them talking to one another, using various Int 5C exercisers. Then, sit back with a network monitor and watch for glitches. As far as I know, there is no commercial test suite for all layers in this situation. James VanBokkelen FTP Software Inc.
