Newsgroups: comp.sys.amiga Path: utzoo!utgpu!jarvis.csri.toronto.edu!csri.toronto.edu!drz From: drz@csri.toronto.edu (Jerry Zarycky) Subject: hard drives on the Amiga 2000 Message-ID: <8811160324.AA19748@yorkville.csri.toronto.edu> Organization: University of Toronto, CSRI Distribution: na Date: Tue, 15 Nov 88 22:24:36 EST The situation: I have an Amiga 2000 and was reading with great interest the different results which people have had with their hard disk interfaces. I was looking to get Kickstart 1.3 in ROM so that I could have an autobooting hard disk, and I was trying to decide between a SCSI and an ST506 drive (price/capacity tradeoff being the choice) But now, I may HAVE to do some work at home under MS-DOS (ugh!) and I was thinking of getting an AT Bridgecard (which will be here RSN). The question: How to proceed? Given that I want the best of both worlds (i.e.) an autobooting Amiga hard drive and the ability for the IBM side to use a hard disk. (I don't think that the IBM side can access an Amiga side hard drive; correct me if I am wrong) Thanks for any responses, Jerry Zarycky Usenet: {uunet,watmath}!csri.toronto.edu!drz CSNET: drz@csri.toronto.edu EAN: drz@csri.toronto.cdn BITNET: drz@csri.utoronto
