From your description (i.e. " ... l:newfs ... ") you're using OLD software.

I have 4 systems up and running fine with 1.3, FFS, and Supra 4x4 and all
is fine, and others (from comments posted on my BBS systems) have used the
SupraConvert even!  And one person who was totally unable to get the
Microbotics stuff to function with a Quantum HD switched to Supra and is now
a happy Amiga HD power user with 1.3 and FFS.

You *SHOULD* get the latest Supra software: version 5.1a.  Again, from your
description, it "sounds" like you're using version 2.4.

Besides being available from Supra directly (along with a new printed manual),
the 5.1a software is available for downloading from BIX, CIS, GEnie and PLink
(per Supra's comments in the ARC files), though I've only seen it on BIX.
