Keywords: I can't link my program Message-ID: <6744@watcgl.waterloo.edu> Date: 13 Nov 88 20:02:23 GMT Distribution: comp Organization: U of Waterloo, Ontario Lines: 35 I have noticed an "undocumented" Error (I could not find it in the manual which means I did not look in the correct place). when I link my program using manx's ln I get: Relocation Table error (or was that overflow) 0: -123 the negative number changes, and I get this message for each hunk that is created. (i.e. if the program has three hunks I get this message three times) This message comes up after both passes, and (I think) before or during the cleanup. As well the linker generates a file, but it is not executable. I can get rid of this error message by adding some more code, or deleting some code, however, the larger the program gets the more often this message comes up. On that same note. I had a problem the other day where by I got different external variables not found. The variables did exist if I recompiled the file containing the variable decleration it came up with a different global variable not found. I finally recompiled the entire program and it seemed to work, except that after some minor changes I got (for the first time for this program) the above ln "Relocation Error" This Relocation error has come up on many different (atleast 4) systems and versions of manx and flag combinations at home and at work. I hope someone can shed some light onto this error: why it happens? and how to get rid of it properly? Thanks -- FDFISHMAN (Flynn D.
