Several messages (including one >that I send only to Info-App) have shown up in both places, but not >all (I think -- perhaps all are duplicated and I've just missed some.) There actually are THREE distributions of the list: info-apple@BRL.MIL Internet comp.sys.apple USENET (most of UUCP, but not all) INFO-APP@NDSUVM1.BITN BITNet Anything sent by USENET readers to comp.sys.apple is *automatically* gatewayed to info-apple@BRL.MIL. Anything sent to info-apple@BRL.MIL (or arriving from comp.sys.apple) is *automatically* sent to INFO-APP@NDSUVM1. Anything sent to info-apple@BRL.MIL from other than comp.sys.apple is *automatically* gatewayed to comp.sys.apple. However, ===> NOTE <=== mail sent to INFO-APP@NDSUVM1.BITNet goes to BITNet subscribers ONLY (that is, BITNet subscribers should post mail to info-apple@BRL.MIL). All three lists carry the SAME messages, but NOT in the same order. BITNet's habit of sending shorter messages first frequently results in answers being posted before the questions arrive. You'll get used to it. Mail also backs up at gateways (or BITNet nodes) from time to time, so it isn't unusual not to receive anything from INFO-APP for two or three days followed by a hundred messages in 30 minutes (you'll get used to that too). Finally, there are occasional ACK (acknowledge) problems between the BITNet/Internet gateway that results in duplication of messages (usually longer ones). New hardware due to be installed next summer (?) *may* fix or reduce that particular eccentricity.
