I AM GOING TO TRY THIS TONIGHT!!" My Percom SSDD drive (RFD-40) has the same characteristic: it takes more than a notch to enable formatting the back of a floppy. You have to punch an additional start-of-track sensor hole on both faces of the floppy jacket. To mark the position of the hole, I use a template consisting of another floppy, placed back-to-back with the floppy I want to "fix". Also, I insert a bit of tissue inside the jacket through the hub hole to protect the floppy surface from being scratched by the hole punch. Dan -----------------------------------
