I like the way they've done it much more than what they used to do earlier, in fact, it was a bit too noiseless for me. :-) The most important new products are the Megafile 40 and the Megafile 60, both are hard disks based on the SH205 (now dubbed 'Megafile 20') with 40 resp. 60 MB capacity. While the new 2080ST (= 1040ST w/2MB RAM) is yet but a rumour, the Megafile 40 and 60 do exist, prices are available, and my dealer says I could order one any time I liked. :-) Now my question is: what drives are inside these new Megafiles? Do they still have the same SCSI adaptor/controller that's in the SH205? Or is it an RLL type? How fast are the drives (28 ms??)? [rest deleted] The new hard drives are the MEGAFILE *30* and MEGAFILE 60. The '30' uses an ST-238R with an RLL controller and the '60' uses an RLL rated 3650 with an RLL controller. Step rates aren't in the sub-40 millisecond range, but neither can my car go from 0-100 km/h in under 6 seconds... Julius Oklamcak Atari (Canada) Corp. - I speak for myself.
