Message-ID: <333@uplog.se> Date: 11 Nov 88 08:36:55 GMT Reply-To: anderss@uplog.UUCP (Anders Sjolund) Organization: TeleLOGIC Uppsala AB Lines: 19 Yesterday my harddisk hit the point where whenever I try to write anything new to the disk I get a disk error. Presumably this is because I've hit a bad block. To my astonishment the mac seems to keep the bad block in the free list, so when I try again, the operation results in the same error. Please, would anybody tell me that this is not the case; that the mac discards bad blocks as it should, and never tries to use them again ? Do I really have to reformat the disk ? The disk is a 20Mb Rodime RO652, with about 7 Mbytes free. Please, tell me what to do !
