Besides I have it on reliable authority that the Sound CDEV's does actually "check" for the new clock chip and doesn't completely rely on the mach resource. But I could be wrong, and I welcome corrections, but I'm not ready to give up yet. I think my original posting was accurrate :-). In system 6.0 I think you are correct, but they added some stuff to 6.0.2 so that things work on a 512Ke, and that forced to to kinda/sorta {read not completely} abandon the mach resource when dealing with the absence of the clock chip. -- David M.
