Janin) Organization: California Institute of Technology Lines: 27 I just received the new APDALog. Upgrading MPW 2.0.2 to MPW 3.0b costs $275!! When I purchased MPW, I did not expect to pay the price of a new package for upgrades. This leads to the following question: Should I pay the price for the upgrade or should I buy a new package? I would like a C compiler with a symbolic debugger. The packages that I know of are: LightSpeed C 3.0 ($120 new) Aztec C ($100 new) MPW C 3.0 ($275, upgrade from 2.0.2) Any advice? Although I am happy with MPW, I don't want to spend ~$300 for each update. Does anyone know how much the upgrade was for LightSpeed and what likely future upgrades would cost? A further factor is that I have heard rumors that MPW is coming out with C++. Are any of the other companies planning to release C++? Are bison and flex (yacc and lex) availible in the other environments? They run as tools in MPW. Please MAIL responses if possible. I will summerize. Thanks, Adam Janin janin@csvax.caltech.edu
