Message-ID: <1988Nov23.133552.19430@intacc.uucp> Date: 23 Nov 88 17:35:51 GMT Article-I.D.: intacc.1988Nov23.133552.19430 Reply-To: mann@intacc.UUCP (Jeff Mann) Organization: Inter\Access, Toronto Lines: 20 I have a very large text file (printed out from a database) which I need to transfer to a Mac for desktop publishing purposes. I would like to create a MacWrite compatible file on Unix so that I can specify font styles on particular fields. I may end up just trying to import the Unix database into a Mac database program and doing the formatting there, but I would rather do it in Unix so that I don't have to buy a Mac database program. I am having a hard time trying to figure out the file format of a MacWrite document. I have the PICT file format notes which refer to a 512 byte header but don't explain anything about it. Also, there is very little explanation of exactly how the opcodes work. You are just supposed to use QuickDraw for everything, I guess. If you have had any experience creating MacWrite files on Unix, or could tell me exactly where I could find out about it, please email to me... Thanks
