a K&R C compiler for the Motorola DSP56001 chip has been shipping since
january, 1988.  it currently runs on the ibm-pc, the macintosh II, and
the sun 3.  motorola and motorola distributors sell it.  when we get
a next computer, we will port the compiler to it.
