Some things he mentioned that night might be interesting: TeX is being ported to the NeXT by 2 vendors - but he had no other information about it. When demoing the sound capabilities (he basically repeated the performance from Davies Hall), he was able to do lookups in the dictionary with no interruptions in the music. This was pretty impressive, even though it makes sense since the music was using the DSP. He said that while the Magneto-optical drive was not being used - it went along and erased unused sections of the disk - so that when you want to write something, the place has already been erased. This should save some of the time in writing to the drive. That's about all that he mentioned that I haven't heard mentioned over the network. He was a great spokesman, and I loved his comment after people asked about availability of the NeXT to people not affiliated with a university: "This is a new phenonema - people actually begging you to sell them your computer" -- Erik Talvola | "It's just what we need... a colossal negative c60c-4au@web.berkeley.edu | space wedgie of great power coming right at us | at warp speed." -- Star Drek
