I have a compaq 386 with a 70 Meg drive, and I want to add a second hard disk. I want to add a big one, 100+ Meg or so, but I've been told that compaq has done some things to their hardware to make life hard for me. First question, I had assumed that the disk I have is ST506, but I was informed that it is probably ESDI, and a mangled esdi at that. How do I find out? I'd like to do one of two things, either get the adaptek rll controller and reformat my current drive, and add a second one, or if my controller is esdi add a 120Meg fujitsu m2344. Are any of these possible. Could it be that I could just plug the fujitsu into my controler and have it work. Will the rll controler work with my existing drive (I beleive that it is a cdc). Anyone who can answer these questions, or who has had a simialar experience will earn a whole pile a gratitude from me. I really need to solve my disk crunch problems soon as I can no longer do any work on my machine (ie less than 1 meg of disk space). Thanks in advance. -Randy -- Randy Menna home: 408-292-0628 UUCP: {decvax, ucbvax}!decwrl!mips!menna play: 408-991-0249
