I don't remember if I have asked these questions before.  But here
they are again.  Has anybody ported a stripped down version of GNU
Emacs to PC class machines?

A friend told me that one can get a version of Emacs (I don't think it
is GNU Emacs) from Compuserve (whatever it does).  Are there other
public domain versions of Emacs out there for the PCs?
