From now on, I will vote FOR any group which is moderated and AGAINST
any group that is not - and I encourage others to consider doing the
same.  I think it is a lot more work to "wade" through the goo of
articles that flow by to find the "gems" than for those that agree
with my concerns about "information overload" (not to speak of "garbage
overload") to each take turns and moderate a group for a while ...

my only alternative is to stop paying attention to a lot of groups
and articles which I am still interested in.

It is also true, that the increased disk space requirement of the
many "fluff-articles" automatically cause reduction of the time
before articles get flushed from our (and, probably, all) systems,
and that effects me directly, as I end up having to read news nowadays
within 3 days rather than on weekends - or lose the opportunity.
