Lines: 22 Folks, this is a "novice" question. How does the "distribution" field affect where the posting goes? What I mean is that I have seen people put "ba" (Bay Area) on their postings, or "usa", or "world". This would indicate that the "distribution" is a geographical characteristic... But I've also seen distributions of "gnu" and "news". These are newsgroup hierarchies. I'm confused. How do I know what the valid "distributions" are? Please email if possible, and please let me know if this isn't the appropriate newsgroup.
