I have been noticing an increasing trend between what's discussed on the
net and what's found in the news of the next few days to a week, as well,
both nationally and locally.

I know for a fact that William Randolph Hearst III has an account on a P/D
UNIX machine, and probably a few others elsewhere, like at Berkeley. And
he's rumored to be reasonably well educated. Certainly, this suggests a
trend amongst news staff. They've been using email and computers for most
of a decade by now, and most of them are familiar enough with laptops to
lecture the rest of us to sleep, from the nature of their work.

So remember that what you post could be making a difference, it's not just
read by your buddies at the site across town any more, we have what seems
to be the beginnings of a truly planetary nervous system here ...
