Rich Salz sent me a de-compressed copy of compress.c from the archives. I got it to run on my 386 PC in 32-bit mode after a small bit of hacking. It can be made to run on a regular PC, but it will need to use huge arrays and be seriously hacked to be generally useful for decompressing things compressed on 32bit machines. It would be nice if somebody could portabilize all these things (or make versions for the PC and MAC) and post them. I COULD post mine - but it needs the Phar Lap runtime, and Phar Lap won't let you post such things without paying them money (!). If you have that I can send it to you. Doug McDonald (mcdonald@uxe.cso.uiuc.edu) I still think plain text posting would be better.
