In it he makes several comments about 32 bit overflow: can't write a file > 2.0GB; must lie to "dump" to get estimate of tape size correct due to 32 bit overflow. It's long past time that computer systems - compilers and/or ALUs - supported >32 bit integers. 64 bits here we come!
