Lines: 16 I talked to several profs about this: the average time for a Ph.D. in CS or Math is approximately four years. Is this true? I've looked through a myriad of grad school catalogs listing profs who've earned their Ph.D's in as little as 2 years to as long as 14 years (from their Master's). Of course, the latter cases may have had jobs before entering Ph.D. study. Also, I realize that a quick Ph.D. doesn't necessarily mean a good Ph.D. Just a curiosity... cd
