In some cases the graduate student will do a BETTER job. I base this on the fact that some professors do not WANT to teach intro courses. Often they would rather teach a higher-level course in their area. Thus, the graduate student who is trying to get teaching experience might spend more time prepairing for the class and discussing the details. Plus the graduate student probably has less teaching load than a professor. This is only a theory.
