The GNU Emacs General Public License *does* place certain restrictions on what can be done with the code. I'd include a direct quote from the License, but I'd be violating its copyright notice, so instead, I'll paraphrase. The purpose of the License is to place restrictions on GNU Emacs that guarantee everyone will have right to share it. So, it ain't necessarily free of charge, and it ain't free of restrictions, but it's available free of charge and it's redistributable. ========= The opinions expressed above are mine.
