If someone were to go through each color/family of colors and visually 'identify' and mathematically code 'best' choices and store this information in some numerical form that could be used by other programs and programming languages, then it need only be done once (obvious- ly, given differences in systems approaches to storing and generating the colors, this is a bit idealistic, but for the purpose of discussion...) and made available through public domain channels.
