Basically, as I see it, the project should entail the architecture of a multi=packet, multi-process, communications protocol geared towards BBSs. It would then involve the development of an application toolkit as well as the a few applications. I would imagine this should be implemented as some subset of SLIP, but some framing techniques may be left out, as there will presumably only a single point to point link.(ie, no source/destination is necessary). I am SERIOUSLY interested in writing this. The only reason I have not written it yet is simply that there is too much for one person to do. If you are interested in being a member of the project team, and you want to do some coding, send email to : celiamrb@garnet.berkeley.edu We will probably do most of our communicartion via the internet/uucp, but I still believe we could write this if enough people are interested/willing to work. I have a lot of time which I am more than willing to dedicate to this, and I would certainly be willing to be the project coordinator, if the general consensus of project members approves. Please join the project! -Antony Aleksandr Courtney celiamrb@garnet.berkeley.edu ..ucbvax!garnet!celiamrb celiamrb@ucbgarne.bitnet Pete Shipley: email: shipley@widow.berkeley.edu Flames: cimarron@postgres.berkeley.edu uunet!lurnix!shipley or ucbvax!shipley or pyramid!hippo!{ root peter } Spelling corections: /dev/null Quote: "Anger is an energy"
