We are currently using PC-Kermit 2.3 and Pibterm 4.1 with our 7171, and I can recommend both over Crosstalk. Both are copy- righted software (not public-domain), but are available free to University faculty, staff, and students. Pibterm is more "user friendly", but takes lots of disk space (around 400K) - it can be used on a two-floppy system, but it's pretty slow to load. Both have hilighting and graphic support. Pibterm is available from SIMTEL20 and the LISTSERVers at RPICICGE and NDSUVM1. PC-Kermit is available from . Marty Zimmerman University of Idaho
