Keywords: backup, remote tape, archive Message-ID: <731@cgch.UUCP> Date: 13 Dec 88 15:29:51 GMT Sender: news@cgch.UUCP Lines: 16 We have a lot of SUN's running under control of users. These users are usually not very happy doing the incremental backup daily. We are looking for a *secure* product, which send the daily incremental backup to our central Vax-systems (VMS). The remote Suns are connected via TCP/IP and Ethernet to our central facilities. We know that this kind of backup is slow, but we restricts the volume to 100(?) MB per system. If a system send more backup stuff, they have to run a new full backup. The product should incorporate a transparent retrieval facility for the remote system administrator. I have also seen an advertisment for the Iverson Tape Manager; would that help ? Hans Barz, CIBA-GEIGY, CH-4002 Basel, R.1032.5.56 mail: whwb@cgch.uucp phone: +41/61/6974520 fax: +41/61/6973288
