I am a new (green) user of the net and a fairly green "developer"(??). I gotta get a program finished which spawns processes, passes messages for control, and responds to interrupts from the parallel port. If any of you nice guys out there can provide advice on resources or references to speed my development (and learning), PLEASE SPEAK UP!! When I first started writing this, I tried to monitor the parallel port by polling. I learned that the system doesn't stay up too long when you do that! So now, I'm trying to do it the right way. I've gotten Rob Pecks program to work, the one that spawns tasks, but not the one that spawns processes (you know, from "PROGRAMMER'S GUIDE TO THE AMIGA", the last chapter). I don't understand either one of them yet, but I'm sure I will before I get finished. I figure there must be standard procedures for doing all of these things, but I'm not yet familiar with them. By the way, I don't mean to be a total parasite. I'm not an Amiga system expert, but if anyone needs musical (you know, MIDI) information, I've got some knowledge I would be happy to share. many thanks, in advance from MR BILL Queener, alias "the Q" -- Mail System (MMDF)
