But we are running BSD 4.3. It is probable that the problem is that your OS only supports 14 char file names and Notes saves each notes-file in it's own directory which needs to have the full name. News gets around this problem by storing the messages in a directory structure comp/sys/amiga and comp/sys/amiga/tech instead of comp.sys.amiga and comp.sys.amiga.tech directories.
