Well, the raytraced image I recently sent to Bob Page via comp.binaries.amiga (poke, prod) has a couple of decent-looking wine glasses in it. After some experimenting, I found that Silver's default for index of refraction on glass was too high for a wine glass. So I set it to 1.1, and it came out okay. You have to keep the wall of the goblet as thin as possible, or the rays will bounce around inside the goblet until the tracer gives up, and you'll get the default color. This happens more often than you might think. The defualt color is what you set the objects color to. Spin the object, set its color to that of the light source (usually white), reflection to a little (about 32), and filter to 255. Also, you might care to set the resolve depth in the global requester to 15. This will give the rays more chance to bounce their way out of the glass. Also, set the horizon and zenith colors to something interesting. A good-looking glass just doesn't happen; you have to put stuff around it for it to reflect and refract. If, after playing around, you can't get something good, I'll mail you the glass I created for my raytracing, which I think is halfway decent. Incidentally Bob, about when can I expect to see that posted? _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Leo L.
