'How' is not quite so easy to answer. I recently took my drive (internal) to be cleaned and aligned and it came back 300% quieter than before. I phoned and asked the service what they had done. They explained that they lubricated a part of the drive mechanism that Commodore didn't, but wouldn't divulge which one! It has worked beautifully and quietly ever since. Anyone know more about this? I'd like to do the same to my external drive.
