Just to throw in my two bits ... I tired getting "paranoia" to run on
our Alliant FX/1 (now an FX/40) about a year ago. It wouldn't even
execute on our machine when compiled with the portable C (pcc) compiler.

The program seems to make certain assumptions about the architecture
of the hardware that are not necessarily true.
