Unfortunately, programs which used to compile and run just fine no longer work. So far, only programs which attempt to use tools (ie quickdraw II) fail to work..they compile, then print a few lines of inverse @'s and other garbage on the text screen, and hang. Control-reset doesn't drop into the shell - it reboots. So far, I've tried booting GS/OS off the hard disk, and then running ORCA off my original one 3.5" disk drive configuration. I've tried (to be sure) booting the old prodos 16 on floppy, then doing exactly what I did when booting off of GS/OS..it runs just fine. Worse still, the compiled files always run under prodos 16, and my old 3.5" configuration, and never run off my hard disk and GS/OS, despite whether they're compiled under GS/OS or P16. I'm obviosly going to have to work this one out pretty much on my own, but if anyone has any ideas, please mail me. One last note - I've got an internal AI hard drive running. It's fast enough to make me happy (though I haven't really compared it with, say, CMS), the built in fan is fairly quiet, and it's given me no trouble at all. Took me 10 minutes to install, I only have to park heads for transportation, and it sure was cheap. Thanks, AI. Bryan Clair c164-bj@bard.Berkeley.edu
