the exact same thing happened to my monochrome monitor and the mono monitor
of a friend. all we did was open the monitor up, and adjust the trimpots
which control the horizontal dimension of the screen (i can't remember the
names of the pots offhand - i'd have to open up the monitor again to get the
names - i think one is the horizontal width, and another is the centering
control - it should be fairly obvious which pots control which aspects of the
screen once the monitor is open)
