The problem is that a printer in IBM or Epson mode has no comprehension whatsoever of what a secondary address is, so it may interpret it in any of many ways. Jeers to Commodore for not taking this into account in one of their own printers. > Does anybody know of a hardware fix (ANYTHING!) > that > will cure the IBM mode of the MPS-1000, so that > it > will print no matter WHAT secondary address is > passed > to it. Humm. If this were a genuine parallel IEEE-488 bus, I'd have a solution for you. However, since the MPS-1000 probably accepts only serial IEEE (or perhaps Centronics) buses, there's little you can do externally. Burning a new ROM may not be too difficult if you're into m/l programming. -- Geoffrey Welsh - via FidoNet node 1:221/162 UUCP: ...!watmath!isishq!Geoffrey.Welsh Internet: Geoffrey.Welsh@isishq.FIDONET.ORG
