Lines: 26 I recently purchased a new Jasmine DirectDrive 45 and so far have been very pleased with it, except for the noise it generates. Upon startup it sounds like a jet engine warming up, and during normal operation it produces a very noticeable whine. This being my first hard drive, I accepted the noise as normal, but recently a friend told me his year- old Jasmine hardly emits a peep. My DirectDrive 45 has a Rodime mechanism, if that's any help. So do I exchange it now while I'm in the 'trial' period, or is my drive behaving normally. Could the noise be an indication of some abnormal wear? Please respond via e-mail, since I don't suppose this is of general interest. Thanks, Tom Quinn -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thomas F.
