I heard that the new maciix will be able to read ibm type disks.  can't
regular macs do it with software or is there some physical barrier to
reading an ibm format in a mac disk drive?  How much control does
software have over hardware? can one bypass high level routines and
just plop information x mm from the center and at such and such a 
point?  just
