How can you set up the interval timer (notify_set_itimer_func()) from within an event handler and receive notification of the timer expiration without having exitted from the event handler? The timer signal seems to go off without exiting back to the window_main_loop(). When the timer is examined after the itimer call it does seem to decrement but I never receive the timer signal.
