Message-ID: <8812122151.AA18236@wilkins.cs.uiuc.edu.> Date: 20 Dec 88 14:49:21 GMT Sender: usenet@rice.edu Organization: Sun-Spots Lines: 17 Approved: Sun-Spots@rice.edu Original-Date: Mon, 12 Dec 88 15:51:09 CST X-Sun-Spots-Digest: Volume 7, Issue 65, message 8 of 22 Under OS4.0, the kernel can be configured to support 3 high-resolution monochrome console monitors, 3 keyboards boards, and 3 mice. (to see that this is possible look at /usr/sys/sun4/conf and do a grep on dtop4). Clearly this can be VERY advantageous; it provides a very inexpensive alternative to buying diskless clients, and allows multiple users to run applications such as SPE/Lisp without swapping over the net. Has anyone tried this? Is it REALLY possible? What hardware is required to hook up three console monitors?
