A dim recollection pointed to gethostbyname(), et.al., but a re-RTFM doesn't confirm this recollection. Any pointers on how to do this in a _reasonably_ portable way (amongst BSD- derivitives) would be appreciated. Please respond via e-mail unless group discussion seems appropriate.
