   Does anyone know the precise differences and similarities between:
	* The rev 2 intrinsics
	* The rev 3 intrinsics
	* The HP version of the rev 2 intrinsics on the rev 3 tape

The HP version is essentially an R2 intrinsics with many bugs fixed.
The differences between R2 and R3 can mostly be gleaned from the
"Converting Widgets from X11 Release 2 to X11 Release 3" document
in R3 in doc/tutorials/r3widgets.ms, and from lib/Xt/CHANGES.

    Also, I understand that the X Consortium has standardized and blessed
    the rev 3 intrinsics.  Is this true?

Yes.

    Finally, on another topic, what are the pros and cons of joining the
    X Consortium?

If your organization would like some information on the X Consortium, have
an appropriate (upper-level) person contact me with name, address,
phone number, and email address if any.  (Actually, in your case, that
has already happened; Greg Tarbox was sent info a while ago.)
