Is this so? I believe there was a proposal for PHIGS+ imaging functionality from VIT, but as far as I know it was not adopted by the ad hoc committee. I don't know what the status of this within ANSI is. If so, how will this image spec compare with the proposal which DEC and others have made for an X image standard specification? What's the likelihood of them merging? Unknown.
