I did spaf's patches without the loose option (ie: patch -p < foome) -- the purdue+ took the -l option to stick. Spaf said the problem is the version of patch people use (ie They go nuts updating things like X11R3 and let little tools like patch slide by - *then* they bitch) This isn't a flame - just that the problem is patch not the speedups. Granted, Gene could have done without the -b option - but my patch didn't complain. Anyway - update your patch everyone! My patch is at level 12 - this may not be the most recent but it works on the speedups. BTW - I put xplaces.tar.Z on expo.lcs - this is something I whipped up that does what toolplaces does under suntools (sic). The xplaces that floated around last winter didn't work for me.
