GNU Emacs 18.52.6 of Sun Nov 20 1988 on kleph (hpux)

When I run spell-buffer, it will bring up words I have spelled wrong,
like 'necesary', and then when I correct it to 'necisary' if I run
spell-word on it (M-$) it will tell me that it is spelled wrong, or
wqhatever, but then the spell-buffer will stop after that word; other
words later in the alphabet which are incorrectly spelled are
forgotten.  Then I have to run spell buffer again, etc...
