Pardon me if this is common knowledge, but inews here seems not
to work correctly in regard to marking cross-posted messages "read",
and the man pages for rn mention "the Xref patch... installed in inews."

What is "the Xref patch" and how does one install it in inews?

Running SysV 2.2... in a brand-new Wicat installation.
